Albemarle Australia is inviting Noongar artists, designers, and story-holders with a strong connection to Australind to collaborate on ideas for public artwork to feature at the Paris Grove Worker Accommodation Village now under construction.

The global CEO of Albemarle Corporation (NYSE: ALB), a world leader in providing essential elements for mobility, energy, connectivity and health, said today there was no doubt that Australia would continue to be a lithium supplier of choice for the world’s top manufacturers of electric vehicles (EVs). During a visit to Western Australia, CEO Kent Masters, confirmed demand for lithium hydroxide continues to make Australia, and Albemarle’s Kemerton processing plant, a focal point for world supply.

Albemarle, a global leader in providing essential elements for mobility, energy, connectivity and health, has awarded a major contract to Compass Group Remote Hospitality Services to operate and maintain the Paris Grove workforce accommodation precinct in Australind, near Bunbury in Western Australia.

The $140 million Paris Grove village is now under construction and will provide accommodation during rosters for up to 800 people working on the $2 billion expansion of Albemarle’s nearby Kemerton Lithium Hydroxide Processing Plant.

Albemarle, the country’s biggest producer and manufacturer of lithium, has used Science Week to shine a spotlight on the diverse and rewarding STEM-related career pathways available to students.

During a series of recent career fairs and information sessions at Manea Senior College, St Thomas More College and Curtin University Chemistry Club, Albemarle team leaders met with students to encourage them to consider future pathways within the company’s world-class Kemerton lithium plant.

The South West arts and culture scene has received a funding boost with a variety of vibrant regional initiatives supported through Albemarle’s 2023 Community Grants Program.

Grants were allocated to community‐focused projects and cultural events, including Bunbury’s Films on the Fringe Festival, CinefestOZ’s Cinesnaps and IndigifestOZ programs, the South West Indian Group’s Bunbury Diwali Festival of Lights, and the Stirling Street Arts Centre’s Art in the Garden event.

A select group of students from Our Lady of Mercy College in Australind were given direct access to career role models from Albemarle recently, at a forum promoting resource industry careers.

The 11 female students were invited to the 2023 Inspiring Girls Careers Forum by Albemarle, as part of the company’s ongoing support for educational initiatives promoting STEM studies and careers.

Albemarle has awarded a major contract to UGL as part of expansion of the Kemerton Lithium Hydroxide Processing Plant, near Bunbury, in Western Australia.

Albemarle will assist a range of 28 community organisations and projects under Round 1 of its 2023 Community Investment Program.

The grants are designed to support a large number and broad cross-section of groups and initiatives important to local South West residents.

Round 1 grants will be followed by a second round of grants later this year, focusing on support spanning the areas of Education; Environment and Sustainability; Health and Culture.
